POSITION SUMMARY

Expected to provide geological generation and analysis of projects in a specific area with particular emphasis on unconventional resource play identification and development.  Provide geological guidance for all exploratory operations, vertical and horizontal, with a strong emphasis on unconventional formation and reservoir evaluation.  Interact and collaborate with all departments at the corporate and division levels to test and pass on approved exploratory plays to the district asset teams.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Evaluate joint venture and property acquisitions opportunities.
• Complete familiarity with core evaluation techniques, emphasizing unconventional/hybrid analysis.
• Complete risk analysis of projects focusing on risk reduction and return on investment
• Utilize geological software proficiently to evaluate large volumes of well information.
• Formation evaluation to determine when it is appropriate to bring outside resources to bear on challenging projects.
• Reservoir characterization through cooperation with engineering and geophysical disciplines across the company.
• Bring creativity and leadership to the team.
• Provide team leadership on projects that can enhance bottom line.
• Seismic interpretation skills and geophysical workstation capabilities.
PREREQUISITES

• MS in Geological Sciences (or equivalent experience)
• Unconventional/tight gas & oil experience preferred
• Demonstrated expertise in risk analysis techniques.
• Strong prospecting skills with demonstrated ability to evaluate opportunities and identify/address key risk elements.
• Computer literate with geological application experience.
• Superior public speaking skills in order to emphasize prospect presentation
